About the initiative

A foundation in purpose, an open initiative in form.

The Foundation for Consciousness Continuity exists to organize rigorous inquiry into whether subjective consciousness can persist beyond biology.

Why this exists

The question outpaces the evidence.

Discussion of mind uploading, brain emulation, and digital survival often moves from technical possibility to personal continuity without examining the step between them.

This initiative is being built to hold that step open: to define it, make assumptions visible, and develop standards that do not reward a compelling story over a discriminating test.

Research posture

Four commitments

Open question

Continuity is neither assumed possible nor dismissed in advance.

Claim restraint

Technical simulation, behavioral similarity, and subjective persistence are reported separately.

Visible uncertainty

Unknowns, null results, corrections, and unresolved criticism belong in the record.

Cross-disciplinary review

Neuroscience, philosophy, computation, measurement, and ethics must test one another’s assumptions.

Legal and organizational status

No nonprofit status is claimed.

The Foundation for Consciousness Continuity is currently an independent research initiative. “Foundation” describes its intended convening and research purpose; no incorporated nonprofit or tax-exempt status is claimed.

No researchers, institutional partners, funders, or advisory board are announced at this time. Future affiliations will be listed only when confirmed.
